Getting to know Alexander
I believe in a client-centered approach to counseling. That means I work to understand you: your beliefs, your concerns, and what is important to you. I then work from there to identify your strengths and figure out how we can make positive change in your life. I primarily use techniques from cognitive-behavioral therapy to help understand negative behavioral patterns you might find yourself in, and to change those patterns in ways that better serve our goals. I also teach mindfulness techniques, like meditation and deep breathing, that help with stress and anxiety in the near term. I am here to help you understand yourself better, and to help you make positive, long-lasting change.
