Getting to know Lauren
I try to walk through life with a sense of humility. I believe everyone has value and intelligence is expansive, spanning from the musicality of a pianist playing their instrument, to the emotional intelligence of someone navigating work politics. I believe your lived experience is yours, formed through a multitude of experiences. I feel grateful to participate in a therapeutic space where I can learn more about a client and provide a safe space free of judgment to explore emotions, challenges, and empower clients to grow. Having worked with families, children and adolescents, I have supported individuals navigating a wide range of issues and has allowed me to not only provide counseling to individuals, but also collaborate with other mental health providers. Seeing the range of treatment outcomes has shaped my own perspective as a counselor, instilling a desire to use evidence-based treatment modalities whenever possible and appropriate. Clients working with me can expect a curious and compassionate listener. I think the foundation of the counseling experience is creating a space where clients feel heard. Beyond that space, I would encourage examining thought patterns, building coping skills, and developing action-based goals that encourage growth. My theoretical approach is eclectic with an emphasis on CBT.
